Lobster Roaches AKA, the Speckled Cockroach originate from Egypt.
Adults measure a little over an inch in length, roughly large cricket size.
They are a climbing species and therefore must be kept in a glass enclosure, with a secure lid. Most keepers will even put a layer of Vaseline around the top boarder to deter escapes. They are quite territorial and should have plenty of decor to get away from one another. Ex: egg flats, paper towel rolls, cork bark, etc.
This species is nocturnal and very secretive, so they do best when kept in the dark. They thrive in heat! Keep them between 90 and 95°, but do not forget to give them lots of water to keep them hydrated, a shallow water bowl is ideal.
Lobster roaches are soft bodied, so great for tarantulas, but also very nutritious for reptiles as they have a high meat to shell ratio.
