- This New World Arboreal is found on Guadeloupe Island and Martinique Island in the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea.
- They are also known as Antilles Birdeater, Martinique Pinktoe, and Martinique Red Tree Spider. They used to be known as an Avicularia versicolor.
- The normal adult size is 4.5" - 5.5", but they can reach a solid 6" Diameter Leg Span.
- This is a very fast-moving spider as a spiderling and has a tendency to jump, but as it matures it becomes less flighty. If startled, it will make a short sprint.
- Caribena versicolor have at least two distinct color phases, one with more reddish setae on the legs and abdomen with a blue-green carapace, and the other with a more greenish carapace and dense magenta setae. Spiderlings of Caribena versicolor are bright blue with a black treetrunk pattern on the abdomen.
