Orange head roaches are beautiful roaches that are far better than dubia both as feeders and pets. Nymphs are a little boring, dark brown and like to burrow through the substrate. Sub adults are a nice, shiny maroon color. Adults have cryptic orange and black markings on their head plate and tend to stay above ground. Adults are unfortunately prone to chewing on each other’s wings, this is perfectly normal and doesn’t harm the roach. This species appreciates a variety of fruits and vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, apples, or oranges, but also needs a little more protein than other roaches. Live bearing and unable to climb smooth surfaces just like dubia, but also breed faster than dubia. Pet or food, just can't go wrong with these guys!
