- While there is no accepted common name, per se, we have seen them referred to as Iranian Black-tailed alligator back scorpion.
- This Old World scorpion is from Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Palestine.
- This species hides underneath stones and bark, digging shallow cavities without any tunnels.
- Their adult size is 2.5" - 3".
- Shell, mesosoma, pedipalps, fourth and fifth segments metasomal and telson are yellowish brown to black. They have densely hairy pedipalps, and the front black stained shell side. Mesosoma segments are often with brown median stripe tending towards yellow longitudinally. The femur of the pedipalps, the legs, and the first and second segments of the metasoma are yellow to yellowish/green.
- Nervous and do not hesitate to defend themselves. They require high heat.
