- This New World scorpion is from Brazil.
- This is a parthenogenic species!
- There is a TON of research done on the venom of this species, as stings in Brazil are very common (140,000 in 2018 alone). Unfortunately, most of the papers are way over my head! I did see that, while they need water quite often, they can survive well in urban areas without food for quite some time. Obviously, they only reproduce when well fed and well hydrated.
- Adult size is between 2" and 3".
- As suggested by its common name, coloration consists of pale-yellow legs and pedipalps, with a darker shade of yellowish brown on the trunk, fingers, and tip of the tail.
