- This Old World scorpion is endemic to Cape Verde, where it occurs on the island of Santiago. It is considered the only native species of scorpions in the archipelago.
- The adults reach 62 mm (2.44") in length.
- The color is reddish-brown to dark brown.
- They are Parthenogenic!
- There is some confusion about this species, and some scientists consider it to be color version of Hottentotta hottentotta. As this has yet to be proven, we're selling them as Hottentotta caboverdensis.
