- Also known as Ecuador Birdeater, Black and Gold, Copper Metallic Tree Spider.
- This New World arboreal tarantula is from Ecuador.
- They are velvet in appearance, showing blue, purple and green.
- The adult size is around 5".
- Tapinauchenius are FAST moving as spiderlings (THE fastest tarantula, in our experience), and have a tendency to jump.  As they mature, they become less skittish.  If startled, it will make a short sprint.  This is not a defensive tarantula, and it is doesn't have urticating hairs.
