- This New World scorpion is from Ecuador and Venezuela.
- The adult length is 1.77" - 2.83".
- Adults acquire a brick red coloration overall and the last metasomal segments black in time. The juveniles are spotted.
- The pectine count is ♂ 18 - 22; ♀ 19 - 21 (PML - Proximal Median Lamella, a rag-like, enlarged comb tooth directly at the beginning of the comb organs).
- Manus of pedipalp narrower in female than in male. Metasoma slightly longer in male than in female.
