- This Old World scorpion is from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Turkey.
- I have read of two different pectine counts: ♂ 25 - 32; ♀ 20 - 26 and ♂ 26 - 33; ♀ 20 - 27.
- General coloration - body light yellowish orange, prosoma densely spotted with blackish brown coloration (mainly over all carinae and furrows), tergites with five blackish longitudinal stripes, legs almost entirely dark to blackish brown, chelicerae, pedipalps and metasoma with some small blackish spots.

- Males have a visible notch on the movable finger of their pedipalps. Also the last segment of their metasoma is much more elongated compared with those of the female.
