- This New World scorpion is known from southern Texas and Mexico in Chihuahua, Coahuila, and Nuevo León.
- The adult size is 2.55" - 2.95".
- The sting is harmless and is less dangerous than its pinch (which can draw blood!).
- The are dark reddish brown with robust pincers.
- Pectine count is ♂ 16 - 20; ♀ 14 - 18.
- Behavior wise, I would put them between the calm Emperor Scorpion and the defensive Asian Forest Scorpions. They are active, though, and really enjoyed checking out their new homes when they were rehoused.
