- This New World scorpion is found in the Peloncillo Mountains of the Arizona/New Mexico border. Also found into extreme northern Mexico.
- In the wild they will dig burrows under rocsk.
- The Diplocentrus peloncillensis does show sexual dimporphism and the best way to check is by looking at the chelae. The granulation on the chelae is more granulated on a male and will also have very easy to see chelal ridges which females do not have.
- Medium sized, adult length not exceeding 50 mm (1.96").
- Pectine count ♂ 13 - 14; ♀ 11 - 12.
