- This New World Scorpion is from the Sonoran Desert in southwest United States (Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah) and northwestern Mexico.
- An adult male can reach 3.14”, and the female is slightly smaller, with a maximum length of 2.75 inches.
- In the wild, during the heat of the day they can be found under rocks, wood piles, or tree bark.
- The Arizona Bark Scorpion is the most venomous scorpion in North America.
- They prefer to rest upside-down or underneath object. They require a vertical surface to properly molt.
- They are yellow to yellowish-brown body color with marked horizontal lines in the mesosoma.
