- Also known as Arizona Devil Scorpion.
- This New World scorpion is very common and widely distributed in the Sonoran desert of the United States (Arizona, New Mexico and parts of California) and Mexico.
- Adult size is 60-70 mm (2.36 – 2.75”).
- Pectinal teeth ♂ = 22-27, ♀ = 16-22.
- It was originally described from specimens supposedly from Texas, but specimens have not been collected in Texas since the description by H. Wood in 1863.
