- This New World species is from the United States (Texas) and Mexico.
- They are rock dwellers and do not burrow.
- Reaches about 55 mm (2.17”), rarely in excess of 60 mm (2.36”).
- Very fast, quick, and mean tempered species, which will sting readily.  It is reported that they will spray venom when cornered.
- Pectinal tooth counts greater than 20 in males, greater than 17 in females
