- Also known as Asian Forest Scorpion, Giant Blue Scorpion, Thai Black Scorpion, and Thailand Forest Scorpion.
- This Old World scorpion is from Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
- The average adult size is 6".
- Look blue in sunlight.   Base color of adult uniformly black, only manus and telson may be reddish brown. In juveniles base color reddish brown, telson may be yellow.
- Can stridulate. 
- Can be kept communally with lots of hiding places.
- Pectine tooth count:  ♀ ♂ 15-19.
