- As adults, they are very defensive. They have been known to squirt excrement at predators as a warning. They also may rub their urticating hairs against you. The are very fast moving - when they were still known as Avicularia's, many considered them the fasting moving Avic. Slings are fast and flighty, but once they reach 2.5 inches is when you see the true personality emerge. If you treat them with respect, though, you'll do fine. In our minds, we think of their behavior as "Mini Pokie's with attitude"...
