- Also known as the Florida Scorpion.
- This New World Species is from Southern Florida, Bahamas, & Cuba.
- They can be up to 4" long, but are typically 2" - 3" in length.
- They REQUIRE a vertical surface to properly molt (and to give birth).
- Coloring: Body color entirely yellow marbled with more dark spots with typically two longitudinal stripes on the mesosoma. The hands of the pedipalps and the 5th segment of the metasoma are sometimes darker.
- Pectine tooth count ♀ 16-20, ♂ 17-21.
- Capable of Amphigonia Retardata (Females can store sperm; they can litter several times without any additional matings occurring. Increasingly smaller litters are to be expected, however.)
