- This Old World species is found in the most North Eastern part of South Africa, into most of Namibia, particularly Northern Namibia, as well as Northern Botswana and the whole of Zimbabwe.
- This species grows to 2.75" in length as adults.
- The largest species in this genus is the Uroplectes planimanus, characterized by their wide pincers.
- They have a very wide range of colors: orange, yellow, green, purple, blue & pearl white all on the same specimen!
- The appreciate some rocks to build a scrape under, like temperatures in the 80's, and humidity around 70%.
- The Pectinal Tooth Count is 22-26 in females, and 24-28 in males.
