- Also known as a Fivekeeled Gold Scorpion.
- This Old World species is from Africa (Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia, Libya, Mali, Niger, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia) and Asia (Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, lebanon, Oman, Quatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Yemen).
- This is a VERY hot scorpion. In fact, we initially didn't want to carry it, since it is so hot, but we've had numerous requests for them. PLEASE do your research.
- They prefer higher temperatures (up to 85 degrees) and low humidity.
- This species is a retreat generalist and will modify and occupy existing spaces under ground cover and debris. It may also adopt existing burrows of other invertebrates and small vertebrates, as well as excavate shallow burrows under rocks to 20 cm in depth.
- They are VERY defensive and NOT communal.
- The adult size is usually right around 4", ranging from 3.15" to 4.33".
- The Pectinal Tooth Count is ♂ = 31 - 36; ♀ = 26 - 29.
