- This New World scorpion is from Canada (Alberta, British Colombia, Saskatchewan), USA (Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming).
- The average length is 1.5" - 2".
- They can be found as far north as 50° N. It is the only scorpion found in Canada, with specimens collected in the Okanagan valley of British Columbia and more widely in Alberta.
- They are medium-sized, with conventional yellow base color of group that is marked with black pattern.
- The pectinal tooth count is ♀ 18-23, ♂ 24-35.
