- The rarest Brachypelma, occurring in a few isolated populations on the Pacific coast of Mexico.
- Adult size is 5" - 6.5".
- Will sometimes flick urticating hairs when disturbed, but they are less prone to do so than other Brachypelma's.   They are generally very calm and docile.
- They have rust-red hairs that covers the legs and abdomen and this contrasts strikingly with the almost black background color.
