This tarantula was SOLD to us as a female. It has not, however, molted while in our care for us to be able to verify that it is, indeed, a female. However, at this size, we're 98% sure it is female.

- Also known as Venezuelan Greenbottle Blue, Orange Bottlebrush, Orange & Blue Bottlebrush, and Venezuelan Bottlebrush.
- From the arid Paraguana peninsula of northern Venezuela.
- Adult size is between 5" - 6".
- Extensive webber.  Sensitive to high humidity - like it dry.  Great Display T.  In the wild, they live in silken retreats in ground fissures or under ground cover among thorn scrub, grasses, and at the bases of succulents (agave, cactus).
- This is a Monotypic species meaning there is nothing else like it, its the only species in its Genus.
- As spiderlings, they have pink legs, a golden carapace, and a red and black patterning on the abdomen.
- As adults, they have brilliant blue legs with orangish setae, metallic green carapaces, blue chelicerae, and pumpkin orange opisthosomas with golden urticating bristles.
- This is our favorite tarantula species so far.  They LOVE to eat!  An interesting tidbit is that we've seen their behavior is different in each individual.  A few like to burrow.  Most of them are terrestrial, and will build either a silk mat in their entire enclosure, or, more likely, silk tunnels.  A select few even act arboreal, and love to climb.  As juveniles and adults, they're always out and about, waiting for their next meal to drop from the heavens...
