- Also known as Giant Hairy Scorpion, Arizona Desert Scorpion, & Desert Hairy Scorpion.
- This New World scorpion is from Mexico and USA (Arizona, Southern parts of California, Nevada and Utah).
- As a desert dweller, they need lower humidity, and are prone to fungal infections if conditions are too wet. We generally mist the walls of their enclosures once a week, and we have observed them occasionally drinking the water droplets.
- They are NOT communal and are typically about 4.5"-5" in total length.
- Their color is uniformly straw-yellow.
- They are reported to be very difficult to breed in captivity, which is something we can attest to, having witnessed three cases of cannibalism prior to mating.
