- Also known as the Red Scorpion.
- This Old World scorpion is from India.
- Adult length is 1.77" - 2.17".
- They are a honey-brown color above with a pale underside. The tail is long and slender with a dark red telson. The pedipalps are slender and sharp.
- Males have longer and narrower metasomal segments.
- Pectine count is 20 - 26.
- This species is parthenogenic!
- They like to hide when they molt which basically means they dig a burrow or hide inside a piece of cork.
- It is extremely important to divide the substrate into 2 sections. One section needs to be dry and the other half moist. This is essential for proper molting.
